Wednesday was devoted to a major excursion — ‘Wild Wednesday’ — for both students and teachers. Together they explored Iceland’s nature and the country’s energy infrastructure.
The programme included the impressive Goðafoss waterfall, the Laxárvirkjun hydropower plant, the Þeistareykir geothermal power plant and the remarkable nature area around Lake Mývatn. The day was rounded off in a relaxed way at the Forest Lagoon.
It became a day on which it was made visible how Iceland turns natural sources — flowing water and geothermal heat — into clean energy.
