Am I eligible for an Erasmus+ KA1 mobility?

This check is intended for staff of the SOML schools. Answer a few short questions to find out whether you — possibly with your pupils — are eligible, which type of mobility fits and what your next steps are.

A KA1 mobility always connects to a learning goal and is carefully prepared in advance — so it is not a casual trip.

In its KA1 Team plan, SOML has been granted these mobilities: group mobility for pupils (32–48), job shadowing for staff (30–44), courses and training for staff (16–24) and invited experts (2–4). Pupils always take part as a group — there is no individual pupil mobility.

Digital & STEAM competence across all subjects

Staff learn to integrate digitalisation and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, maths) across all subjects, linking it to sustainability and citizenship. New knowledge is shared through Heyy by SOML.

Inclusion & equal access for all learners

Erasmus+ is open to all learners — including NT2, SEN and disadvantaged learners — through transparent selection, preparation, mentoring and financial support.

Professional development & staff wellbeing

Short, high-quality training, job shadowing and exchanges strengthen staff motivation, wellbeing and retention — addressing teacher shortages and workload.

Learners’ international mindset

Learners develop intercultural competence through mobility, virtual exchanges and international projects across all subjects — including learners who do not travel themselves.

Organisational development & regional impact

Erasmus+ becomes a structural driver of school development and cooperation — within SOML and across the region, sharing results through Heyy by SOML and regional events.

Job shadowing — teacher

A teacher spends a week observing at a partner school in Finland to learn their approach to formative assessment, then shares it with their own department.

Three teachers jointly take a course on AI in the classroom in Dublin, linked to the school goal on digital pedagogy.

Group mobility — pupils

Twelve pupils work for a week with a partner school in Portugal on a sustainability project embedded in the curriculum, accompanied by two teachers.

Hosting an expert — incoming

The school invites an expert from abroad to train the teaching team in a new teaching method.
