From 11 to 15 May 2026, the partners of the Erasmus+ project GREEN came together for the first international learning activity (LTTA1), in Akureyri in the north of Iceland. The host was the school Verkmenntaskólinn á Akureyri (VMA).
Teachers and students from five countries — Croatia, Portugal, Turkey, Iceland and the Netherlands (SOML) — worked together for a week around sustainable energy and environmental education. The week began with an opening ceremony and a word of welcome, followed by presentations in which the schools and partners introduced themselves to one another.
Iceland is an ideal place for this theme: the country runs almost entirely on renewable energy. That formed the common thread through the programme, with presentations by energy companies, practical workshops and excursions.
GREEN — Green Revolution Environmental Education Nurturing — is coordinated from Croatia; SOML is a partner.
